Three cinquains and photos to celebrate my very first journey to Maine. The sea is an elemental influence on the architecture, food and fine natives of this northern New England state. WIDOW'S . . . more

About Me
-
Describe Yourself:If I am to be defined by my actions then I am a photographer, a historian, a cook, a story-catcher.
If I am to be defined by life-roles then I am a mother of three, a wife, a daughter, an employed marketer by day, an aspiring novelist by night.
If I am to be defined by my family and friends, then think highly of me. I keep company with intelligent witty creative people; some cook incredibly well; some lift spirits with laughter and some actually know how to use a needle and thread.
I am not my job, my college education, my house, my debt, my car, my clothes. I eat well, laugh hearty, love many and find adventure come what may. -

Jana B., Jan 5, 2009, 5:35PM ESTHi, Charli! Thanks for the ping. I don't know how active I'll be on Gather in the coming months. I'm going to give it a try, but I often seem to get busy with other things. Send me notice of your groups.

Barbara S., Jul 24, 2008, 11:16PM EDTHi Charli,
I haven't heard from you in forever, give or take a month.
You will have to contact me, you'll never believe what they've been doing to this town. You'd be shocked, I'll bet. I know I sure am.
I've caught a few articles you've posted. Enjoyed them bunches. But I need someone to commiserate with over our town. It's too long of a story to tell here. So get in touch, will you?
Six highschool boys were on their way from Denton into Lewistown when their car didn't make a curve and four of them died. It's a sad, sad day in Lewistown, even with the fair going on.
The funerals were today. So much heartache for the parents and families. Please pray for them, will you?
As for me and mine, we're getting along better than we were. Charlie has new hearing aids as can HEAR. I'm going to have to be careful of what I say from now on, huh?
Got a few flowers planted. "Kring's" corner has arrived in my yard for the summer. That includes a birdbath that you'll see on my profile or comments. I've got more to do, but my knees won't take a whole lot. Want to come out and help me for a few days?
The Clyedsdale's and the beerwagon were here Wednesday and paraded down main street. One of them is 19.2 hands high. I can't see myself running and jumping on that ones back. I'd need a tall ladder.
This could go on forever. You want my email address so I can send you pictures? Let me know.
Talk to you soon.
Love,
Barbara S.
